We mean business

You may well be wondering how Which? can change the way the banking sector works. If you’re thinking that the banking industry is huge and Which? is a publishing company… well, that isn’t quite right.

While we are better known for publishing magazines and websites, we also have a long, successful history of campaigning to protect consumers. We’re determined that we will be successful this time, too.

Some Which? wins

Here are a few example of things we’ve campaigned on before: you might be surprised to find out  made all of these things happen!

•    We’ve helped people get thousands of pounds back from mis-sold payment protection insurance and we’re still campaigning on this issue.

•    We stopped high street banks from introducing charges for using their ATMs

•    We campaigned on mis-sold endowment mortgages... and since the campaign launched in 2002, millions of people have complained, getting £2.9 billion in compensation

•    We helped thousands of people to reclaim unfair bank charges and we continue to fight the banks to stop them ripping off their customers

•    We campaigned for better pensions: and now from 2012 you’ll be able to get an affordable pension you can trust

•    We took on another big industry and won when we forced car companies to stop charging higher car prices in the UK than other parts of Europe

We’ve done it before we can do it again

Your view really counts. With enough support we can show the banks and the government that we won’t put up with this anymore. Whoever’s in power in 2010, reform is needed. We can show them it’s time Britain had better banks!
